The Way I Roll
Saturday morning the kids, Peter and I went to Walmart to get a birthday gift. Since I had my surgery I have a hard time getting around so I checked one of those motorized carts to help me get around easier. I couldn't help but feel silly as I rolled down the aisles. Those things are really hard to stear and I have to admit, I almost ran into a person or two, not to mention the merchandise in the middle of the aisles. Then I missed the aisle I needed to turn down. I put it in reverse and...BEEP BEEP BEEP....there it was, that sound that drew every single person's attention to me. I felt the stares burning through me. I burst out laughing...I just couldn't hold it in any longer.I laughed so hard I almost Peed my pants. As I think about this experience, I really don't think it would be that bad if it was at another store like Costco. But it was at Walmart. Enough said.

Kids and Compassion
SO since my surgery the kids have been all about making sure I am doing alright. Taysja is so great about getting me ice and filling my water cup. She will come in bed with me and read me her favorite story. Trennon is so overwhelmed with me not being able to get up and go downstairs or even just walk without crutches. He comes in to check on me every 10 minutes. "Mommy are you ok? You are not dead yet? Im so glad." I will ask him if he can get me something and he gets really nervous and starts pacing. "ok mom, yeah, ok. mom, are you ok....?" He is just the sweetest little boy. He loves to climb up in bed with me and just snuggle. He wont say anything, hell just lay there rubbing my arm making sure i'm alright. The other night he told me hell stay here until I fall asleep. Tyson is not sure whats going on but knows I am not myself. He just want to sit with me all day and watch movies. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful kids. They are so compassionate towards others. Such a great quality!

my Surgery
The past few days have been crazy! I had knee surgery Wed. Jan.12. and am trying to recover and get back to myself. It has been a long road to get to this point. I injured my knee at work September 15 2010. For the past 4 months I have been fighting trying to get this surgery. I went on disability The week before Halloween. I knew I tore my meniscus. I had an MRI and nothing showed up. I went through Physical Therapy for a month with no improvement. Then I finally got the ok from the workman's comp insurance for the surgery I knew I needed. Sure enough, they saw that tore my meniscus when they went in. They just trimmed it back so I should have a pretty easy recovery. The pain is not as bad as I thought it would be but it defiantly is there. I have been putting a little weight on it and doing my exercises. I start PT Monday morning and I hope to be back to work in about 5 weeks!
